Steven Nydick is a Lead Psychometrician at Duolingo where he contributes to the scoring and administration logic of the Duolingo English Test (DET). Steven has over 10 years of experience in psychometrics, assessment development, statistics, data science, and programming. He is currently the main developer of the DET's state-of-the-art item parameter calibration software SPICE and was the primary psychometric driver behind the recent overhaul of the DET subscores. He holds a PhD in Quantitative Psychology/Psychometric Methods and an MS in Statistics, both from the University of Minnesota.
