Shannon Carter is Chief Executive Officer at the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. She joined the organization at the beginning of 2020, bringing with her more than 20 years’ experience in adult learning and certification. Shannon’s formal education includes degrees in communications, organizational development and leadership, which she balances with practical experience in professional associations and credentialing organizations to deliver value to members, learners and stakeholders. Shannon is CAE certified and sits on several association boards whose missions align with her interest in lifelong learning. Her speaking experience includes more than 40 professional presentations on topics ranging from innovations in credentialing to strategy development.
