
Mr. Sean Gehring is the Director of Examinations at the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (RCDC). He has worked with Senior Healthcare Executives and Dental Specialist Leadership to achieve strategic directions, advance change management initiatives and drive quality improvement.
Since joining the College in 2023, Mr. Gehring has overseen transition of the National Dental Specialty Examination back to RCDC. While at the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons, he oversaw several significant examination transformation initiatives including the transition of RC examinations to new locations across the globe and the implementation of computer-based examinations.
Mr. Gehring spent the decade prior to joining the Royal College working at Canada’s largest academic health sciences centre, the Ottawa Hospital, in varying roles from front line clinician to management. He has extensive leadership in both ambulatory and inpatient clinical operations in environments ranging from acute care to rehabilitation. Prior to transitioning to the assessment industry, Mr. Gehring was the Regional Director of the Champlain Regional Stroke Network, and was responsible for leading stroke care for the 1.4M citizens of the Champlain Local Integrated Health Network. In addition, Mr. Gehring has served on the Board of Directors of several community health and long term care organizations in the Ottawa region.
Mr. Gehring holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Bradford, a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Queen’s University and an Industrial Relations Certificate from Queen’s University.
