As the Managing Director of the American Board of Dermatology (ABD), Elysia oversees business operations, with a particular focus on exam development and technology initiatives. With more than a decade of experience at the ABD, Elysia has led several key assessment innovations: designing fully customized item banking solutions to optimize workflow, implementing remote proctor technology, incorporating virtual microscopy into exams, and transitioning the ABD to a longitudinal assessment model for continuing certification. Elysia’s early career in medical software implementation throughout the United States and England ignited her passion to provide intuitive and convenient software platforms for physician end-users. While working at a diagnostic laboratory that served dermatologists nationwide, she developed an appreciation for the complexities of dermatology and the importance of seeking care from Board certified providers who demonstrate ongoing expertise in their field.
