
Chase A. Winterberg, JD, PhD, serves as the director of the Hogan Research Institute on the data science team at Hogan Assessments. In this role, he coordinates and communicates research to refine the theoretical foundation and understanding of best practices for implementing Hogan’s solutions to help solve organizational problems. Chase collaborates with external researchers and students across the world. He supports global university student education by providing guest lectures, demonstrations, and support for class projects. His research, writing, and speaking focus on applying and enhancing personality theory, leadership theory, and workplace assessment. Chase has authored more than 50 peer reviewed conference presentations, scientific papers, and edited textbook chapters. He has also appeared as a guest on the Science of Personality podcast and has written numerous scientific blog posts, white papers, and technical reports. Chase is a licensed attorney in the state of Oklahoma. He received his JD from the University of Tulsa College of Law, with the Order of the Curule Chair award, and his PhD in industrial-organizational psychology from the University of Tulsa, achieving the NOVA Innovation Award. Chase is also an adjunct professor in a few graduate business and psychology programs, where he earned the Most Valuable Professor award in 2020. He is also the past Chair of the ATP I/O Division. Prior to his academic career, Chase served in the US Marine Corps infantry and military police.
