
Andreas Oranje is Chief Scientist of Analytics at RTI International, providing innovative solutions for key clients in the fields of AI, education, and statistics. Prior to this, he was the Managing Director of Assessment Programs at the National Conference of Bar Examiners, where he lead the technical solutioning and implementation of the NextGen Bar Exam. With over two decades at ETS, Oranje held key leadership roles, including Vice President of Assessment (R&D) and General Manager of AI and Cognitive Sciences, driving advancements in educational technology, game-based assessment, and AI research. Before that, he led the design, methodology, and analysis of the National Assessment of Educational Progress. Dr. Oranje holds a Ph.D. in Quantitative Psychology, and a B.A. + M.A. cum laude in Psychological Methods from the University of Amsterdam, as well as an MBA in Finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a Beta Gamma Sigma honoree. He has published extensively on NAEP’s statistical methods, digital performance based assessments, and applied AI.
