Goldman Sachs recently estimated 300 million jobs worldwide could be replaced by AI models. Research conducted by both Open AI and the University of Pennsylvania estimated that 80% of U.S. workers could have 10% or greater of their tasks impacted by large language models, but that a subset of about 20% of workers would see 50% or greater of their tasks impacted. Often, “white collar” jobs involved in data analysis are deemed the most at risk. But what about the testing industry and what about us?

This session aims to explore the profound impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) not just on testing, but on the professional landscape as a whole. AI is reshaping roles, creating new opportunities, and challenging traditional professional paradigms. By shifting focus from a narrow perspective on how AI technology impacts testing (currently and in the future) to a broader perspective of how professions are evolving in response to AI advancements, we can better understand if and how testing, and our professional roles, will fit into the future.
